Correct Opinion: The Sixers Having A Rat In The Locker Room Isn't A Big Deal At All

By now I'm sure that mostly everyone has seen the report that came out about the Sixers holding a team meeting after getting their dicks kicked in by the Miami Heat. A pretty big list of details were revealed from the meeting ranging from Tyrese Maxey calling out Joel Embiid for showing up late to everything, Joel not being sure what the Sixers are "trying to execute" on the floor, and the players wanting to be coached harder while the coaches want the players to practice harder.

All of these on their own are major issues. The fact that Joel can't even be bothered to show up on time to anything is the biggest issue out of everything. The man is making damn near $30 million this year to hopefully play in 30 games. The least he can do is show up to his obligations on time. The fact that the Sixers don't have anybody else in the organization who can hold Joel Embiid accountable besides Tyrese Maxey is an issue. The fact that the coaches aren't pushing these guys in practice while they're 2-11 to start the season is an issue.

But something weird happened in Philly yesterday. It certainly wasn't everybody, but there were people out there who viewed the contents of the meeting getting leaked to national media as the biggest issue out of everything. And to that I say...

Grow up.

The year is 2024. Literally everything gets leaked in sports today in the world of insiders and rumors and leagues like the NBA prioritizing off-court drama over the game itself. It's not like the 70s where a team is literally just the players and a few coaches. Nowadays there are 50 different dudes on staff. You have trainers, you have nutritionists, you have assistants to the assistant coaches. Some of these guys probably don't even get a paycheck from the Sixers and are just planted spies for Shams. Anything that happens in sports that is worth reporting is going to get leaked to the media, I don't know what else to tell you.

Some people leak things to the media because they have aspirations of becoming a head coach one day, and know that having a good relationship with an insider is going to benefit them. Some people leak things to the media because they just like being "in the know" and having that power. Some people leak things to the media because they have a narrative to spin. Maybe some people are just bored. Either way, leaks happen all the time. And if you're more upset about the fact that this supposedly closed door meeting was leaked rather than the fact that your $150 million superstar MVP can't even show up on time to anything, then the loser mentality of this Sixers organization has spread like an infection to the fans and great people of this city.
